One to One Consultations: what to expect

A one to one consultation will enable you to discuss your individual aims and goals. A full nutritional assessment is carried out based on your relevant medical and social history, your typical diet and eating patterns, and current lifestyle.

Each consultation takes up to one hour and comprises of a detailed nutritional assessment, which may include any or all of the following:

  • Anthropometry (i.e. height and weight, recent weight history, usual weight, waist measurement, BMI).
  • Consideration of relevant biochemistry from blood tests/other tests.
  • Clinical considerations such as nutritional signs and symptoms (i.e. gastrointestinal problems), relevant recent and past medical history and medications, and family medical history.
  • Dietary factors, including aspects affecting your current food intake, diet history and nutritional requirements.
  • Consideration of social and lifestyle issues, exercise levels, readiness to make changes and motivation.

After this, with your input, the formulation of a practical plan of action is developed through making clear aims and objectives. Focus is usually on making changes that are realistic and achievable that will enable you to make some permanent changes to your eating habits and health.

Although a one off session may be all you need, Pam prefers to see you for at least two sessions to monitor the initial progress; therefore the first consultation is split into two separate occasions. Following that, most clients find that further sessions are invaluable, be they on a regular basis, or as circumstances arise.

Pam accepts referrals from medical practitioners, other health professionals and clients who self refer. To make an appointment please contact The Green Room on 020 7486 6163 or email admin@48wimpole.co.uk
