Weight Management

Gaining control of your weight isn't easy, if it was then everyone would be able to do it. It has been said that we currently live in an obesity promoting or 'obesogenic environment', where many of us have access to high calorie, delicious, inexpensive food, coupled with labour saving jobs and entertainment options which promote a sedentary lifestyle.

Anyone can go on a high protein, grapefruit or egg diet for a couple of weeks and lose weight, but that loss will not be permanent. Only weight lost permanently is beneficial to your health.

The first step in successfully controlling your weight is to examine, in detail, what you are doing now with regard to your eating and exercise patterns, and why you are doing it.

Therefore, Pam's approach is to help you to consider your current habits and to encourage you to think about and implement ways that you can make small permanent changes to your eating habits, which will lead to permanent changes in your weight. Behaviour modification in weight management is a process where unhelpful habits are replaced with more effective ones.
